How rare is your achievement?

Type what you did, in your own words, and GritCore estimates how many people in the world have done the same. "I ran 100 km" becomes a number: a share of humanity, and roughly one in how many people.

How does the rarity estimate work?

  • You describe the feat. One sentence is enough: "I held a plank for ten minutes", "I climbed 8,849 m in a day".
  • GritCore estimates it. It works out how many people have plausibly done it, against a reference population, and shows its reasoning step by step.
  • You get the number. A percentage and a plain "about 1 in N people", with a confidence level.
  • If it holds up, make it official. Turn the estimate into a challenge that anyone can claim.

Is it accurate?

It is an honest estimate, not a certified statistic, and the app says so on every result. For the ten official challenges, the figures come from race results, federation data and published participation numbers. For anything else you describe, the estimate is made with Google's Gemini and shows the working, so you can judge it yourself. You choose when a sentence is sent, and it is never sent with your name.

What can I measure?

Anything physical that can be described: distance, speed, climbing, reps or holding a position. These are the ten official challenges the app already tracks:

From "how rare is it" to "how rare am I"

Each verified feat adds to your rarity score, a number from 0 to 100 where every 5 points means twice as rare: 33 is one in a hundred, 50 is one in a thousand, 66 is one in ten thousand. It places you on the global leaderboard and against the people you follow.

Common questions

Is there an app that tells you how rare your fitness achievements are?

Yes. GritCore estimates what share of people have done a physical feat, from a marathon to a ten-minute plank, and shows it as "about 1 in N people". It is free on iPhone and Android.

How fit am I compared to the average person?

Compare specific feats rather than a general fitness score. Running a marathon, for example, puts you among roughly 0.1–0.2% of people alive; a sub-3 hour marathon among roughly 1 in 15,000. GritCore does this comparison for any feat you describe.

Does GritCore need my name to make an estimate?

No. Only the sentence you write is used for the estimate, never your name or account.

So how rare are you, actually?

GritCore is free on iPhone and Android.
