Questions and answers
What is GritCore?
A free fitness app that shows how rare your physical achievements are. Claim a feat such as a marathon, a 100 km run or 100 pull-ups in a day, verify it, and see what fraction of people have done the same.
Is GritCore free?
Yes. No ads, no purchases, no subscription.
Is GritCore on iPhone?
Yes. GritCore is free on the App Store for iPhone, and on Google Play for Android.
How does GritCore know how rare something is?
Each official challenge has an estimate built from race results, federation data and published participation figures, labelled as an estimate. For anything else, the rarity estimator makes an estimate from your description and shows its working.
Which devices can verify my workouts?
Anything that writes workouts to Health Connect on Android or Apple Health on iPhone, including most smartwatches and most running and cycling apps.
Does GritCore read my location or route?
No. It never asks for location permission and never reads the route of a workout.
What is Grit?
The points you stake and win in duels. It has no money value and cannot be bought, sold or cashed out.
How do country rankings work?
A country's National Score is built from its 10 strongest athletes in the season. Seasons last one calendar month, and the leader at the end keeps a permanent star.
Can I create my own challenge?
Yes. Set a name, a category and at least one target (distance, climb, reps or hold time), and anyone can claim it.
Which languages does GritCore support?
English, French, Spanish, German and Dutch.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Me, then Account, then Delete my account. Deletion is immediate and permanent. See the delete account page for details.
So how rare are you, actually?
GritCore is free on iPhone and Android.
