Prove it with the workout you already recorded

A claim is only worth something if it is true. GritCore checks yours against a workout your phone or watch recorded, through Health Connect on Android and Apple Health on iPhone, so nobody has to take your word for it.

Free on iPhone and Android

How does verification work?

  • Pick the challenge, for example Run 100km or the Century Ride.
  • Tap "Verify from a recorded activity". GritCore lists the workouts that could qualify.
  • Choose one. Distance, duration and climbing are checked against the challenge automatically. Nothing is typed, so nothing can be mistyped.
  • Done. The claim is marked verified and your rarity updates.

Which apps and devices work?

Anything that writes workouts to Health Connect on Android or Apple Health on iPhone: the phone's own tracking, most smartwatches and most running and cycling apps that sync their workouts there. If your watch appears in Health Connect or Apple Health, GritCore can read it.

What about strength challenges?

Reps and holds (pull-ups, push-ups, planks, wall sits, dead hangs) are not recorded by any sensor, so these are claimed on your honour, with an optional link to a video or post as proof. People who were there can vouch for you; once enough of them do, the claim shows as witnessed.

What does GritCore read, and what does it never read?

  • Reads: the type, time, duration, distance and climbing of the workout you choose.
  • Only when you ask: when you verify a claim or sync a duel. Never in the background.
  • Never: your route, heart rate, weight, sleep or anything else in your health data. GritCore never writes to it either.

Common questions

Can I verify a run from my Garmin or other watch?

Yes, if your watch syncs its workouts to Health Connect (Android) or Apple Health (iPhone). GritCore reads the workout from there when you choose it.

Does GritCore track my location?

No. It never asks for location permission and never reads the route of a workout.

Can I claim something without a recorded workout?

Yes. You can claim it yourself and add a link to your proof. Others can vouch for you, and the claim is marked as self-reported rather than sensor-verified.

So how rare are you, actually?

GritCore is free on iPhone and Android.
